We are pleased to share with you the various Leadership Development opportunities that the area of Student Involvement has to offer

SIU Leadership Honor Society

The mission of the society is to empower and develop leaders by giving access to opportunities within leadership and community service. Students that are eligible for membership must have a GPA of 3.0 and evidence of community service experience. Students that are eligible for this year received a letter via e-mail sharing the opportunity. If students or staff members have questions about the leadership honor society they should reach out to Basha Wilas at bwilas@siu.edu. **This society will take the place of the National Society for Leadership & Success.

Social Justice Leadership Institute (SJLI)

The Social Justice Institute (SJI) at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale is committed to creating an inclusive space for learning and dialogue amongst a cohort of SIU students. SJLI will provide members of this group with opportunities to engage in challenging conversations around social justice issues, and access to presentations and workshops facilitated by campus and community professionals. SJI hopes to inspire student-driven positive change both within and beyond the SIU community. For any questions regarding the SJLI please reach out to Kaitlin Schmitt at schmitt.kaitlin@siu.edu. **This institute received the 2012 ACPA Commitment to Social Justice Education Award.**
