The following are regulations to administer the Policies of the Southern Illinois University Board of Trustees and Southern Illinois University governing the use of University property.
SIU Policies.
Below are some of the important components of the Solicitation Policy for the to keep in mind when completing this form:
- You must request a permit at least three (3) full business days prior to the desired date/time of the solicitation activity.
- A solicitation permit through the Office of Student Engagement is only permitted from 8am-4pm Monday thru Friday when the University is open for business.
- No solicitation will be permitted in front of an entrance/exit doors or escalator/stair/elevator entry and exit points.
- During the solicitation event, the permit must be placed in plane view on the table. (You will receive this permit on the day of the solicitation event)
- Student Organizations may not use amplified sound at solicitation spaces.
- Space will be assigned on a "first come, first serve" basis.
- A member of the student organization is required to be on site at all times.
- All proceeds must be deposited into the RSOs university account within one (1) day.
Hosting a solicitation table on campus is a benefit of being a registered student organization on campus. In order to respect other student organizations on campus, the following cancellation policy will be in place:
- The Office of Student Engagement must be notified of the cancellation with a minimum of 24-hour notice.
- Any cancellation under the 24-hour minimum will be considered a “No Show”
- If a student organization is more than an hour late to pick up their solicitation permit, they will be considered a “No Show”

Two “No Shows” in a semester revokes solicitation privileges for that student organization for 16 academic weeks.
Please Note: No Solicitation Permits will be issued during the first two weeks and last two weeks of the semester.
